Someone Borrowed Someone Blue – new work by Christiana Spens

An exhibition of new work by Christiana Spens, including paintings, prints and etchings, which explore escapism, intimacy and femininity, within the bounds of love. 

Ahead of the launch of The Fear by Christiana Spens, The Stash Gallery is showing a series of drawings and paintings that feature in the book itself, or explore similar themes of love, loss, and recovery, 
opening on Thursday 23rd February 2023 from 6:30pm.

In Someone Borrowed, Someone Blue, figures exist in a dreamlike world of closed interiors — from bars in Berlin to bedrooms in London or Paris, alone and together, or often in a state somewhere in between. Spens explores the ways in which our inner lives spill out into the exterior worlds we co-inhabit, and how lives interact and entangle therein.
