Train Lines, Distance and Communication

Short film By Sam Cook

My film explores trains and their tracks as symbols of human outreach, a yearning for connection, and interpersonal relationships. A pastiche of early transport films, entwining old and new to create something prescient. This film speaks for love…on the line.

Performance  Art

Aurora Ulian is a London-based artist, working across performance, installations, and sculpture. Underpinning themes of sound and its absence, ephemerality, phenomenology, documentation and participation through the noise. Since 2021, Ulian has been developing the Metal Sheet series, exploring the discovery of unwanted noises through performance and participation. “I am sound, I am a body and my presence resounds in the space. My presence vibrates as each object produces noise.” Aurora Ulian uses the interaction with the audience, who become participants to transform into a source of noise, usually hidden or disguised. Invited to interact with selected works, we are confronted with our own unique preconceptions of sound and noise, and what covers its constant presence. Through performance and interactive installation, the participant is encouraged to experience the artworks.
