REMARKS ON UNREMARKABLE FILMS OF THE NINETIESNew and established fiction and comedy writers present
their responses to forgettable films of the 1990s
March 7, 2016 – London – The Wrong Quarterly is a London-based literary print journal showcasing fresh
talent in literary and cross-genre fiction. It aims to foster an international community of innovative writers
and literary professionals by unlocking the potential of grassroots publishing in the digital age. TWQ is
available in bookshops in the UK, the US, and France, including Lutyens & Rubinstein, Foyles, The Rizzoli
Bookshop, and Shakespeare & Company.
Founding Editor Arianna Reiche has worked with Fest, McSweeney’s, New Scientist, USA Today, and
Vice. She completed her MA in Creative Writing from Goldsmiths in 2013. She is currently writing a
Structuralist-homage novel about an entropy-monster living underneath London City Airport, and has
recently completed her first collection of short stories.
May-Lan Tan is the author of the short story collection Things to Make and Break (shortlisted for the
Guardian First Book Award 2014) and the chapbook Girly. Her work has appeared in Zoetrope: All-Story,
The Atlas Review, The Reader, and Areté.
Reiche and Tan have been friends and collaborators since meeting at grad school. They are excited to
present a literary event celebrating fiction, comedy, and cinema. Hosted by Vouts-O-Reenees on Friday 15
April, 2016, Remarks on Unremarkable Films of the 90s (or RUF90) will feature exclusive content
commissioned from emerging and established writers based in London and abroad. Featured readers so
far include: Heidi O’Laughlin, Nell Frizzell, Ned Beauman, Alex Christofi, Will Eaves, and Matilda Wnek,
Doors open at 6:30pm and the event will start at 8pm. The readings will be followed by a set from DJ Bad
(till 2am). Located a stone’s throw from Aldgate station, Vouts-O-Reenees serves exquisite cocktails and
food—we recommend the handmade Beijing-style dumplings!— till late in swoony surroundings.
