The Poetry Brothel – Comes to London The First SOLD OUT! Next one 2nd July

2 July 2016 @ 12:00 am

The Poetry Brothel is a unique immersive poetry event where the customers (or John‚Äôs as we like to call them) will have the chance to purchase one to one readings with one of our tantalizing poetry whores. In a contemporary world where every little thing has a price, why not start trading with the only thing that really matters, the human psyche, thoughts, the soul? ¬ÝAll of our poets are actively performing in the London poetry scene or are published writers with powerful literary work and they will make sure every John leaves their private dwellings having experienced a poetical and existential ¬Ýgem of an experience. These private readings will take place in one of London‚Äôs most Bohemian and avant-guard venues,¬Ý ¬Ý ¬Ý ¬Ý ¬Ý ¬Ý ¬Ý ¬Ý ¬Ý ¬Ý ¬Ý ¬ÝVout-O-Reenees, which will be full of Tarot readers, Burlesque dancers, Jazz musicians and other performers who will make the event even more exciting and unforgettable. If you ever thought poetry could be boring and predictablepoetry brothel madam, prepare to dismantle all your prejudices.

MEET THE WHORES

Madam Lafée (above)

Part owl, part siren, part savour-faire rascal, Madame Laf√©e bares blue opal eyes of a creature who has seen everything and yet nothing at all. Possessed with the depth of an amethyst sky, she clandestinely resonates with the silver screen dreams of her Russian filmmaker, his memory stored safely within the ancient bend of her thumping heart. Daughter of a Moon Goddess and a Parisian Jew, her youth was a flirtatious dance through the folds of night employing the stars as street lamps. When grief gripped her soul, like a newborns cry, and her body did something astonishing. Flesh stayed soft, refused to mature, her bones showed no sign of life’s tired mark. Fortunately, time trickled through the eons, as it does, and her woe calmed into a tender throb that gently threats to swell, occasionally filling her heart room to orchestral levels.

Obsessions: Silent films, justice, Italian egg pastas and sparkling wines.

Pastimes: Dancing barefoot to licentious lullabies.

Poeticals: Look and you shall conceive.
