Jack & Me: How not to live after Loss by Cosmo Landesman
12 October 2022 @ 6:00 pm - 11:30 pm
Book Launch for Cosmo Landesman pub by Black Spring Press
After the suicide of his son Jack in 2015, journalist Cosmo Landesman set out to write an anti-suicide/ anti-grief memoir that was angry and cynical about the way we look at death, suicide and grief. Where others parents of suicides were motivated to try and do good in the world, Landesman took the do nothing, say nothing and feel as bad as possible option. Seven years later he wonders if he made a terrible mistake. But Jack and Me is more than about suicide – its about a clueless father trying to save his troubled son.
Cosmo Landesman is a journalist, broadcaster and author. Along with Toby Young and Julie Burchill he was the co-founder of the influential magazine The Modern Review. He has written for a wide range of newspapers and magazines including The Daily Mail, The Daily Telegraph and The Spectator. Landesman is best known for his successful dating column in the Sunday Times Style Magazine alongside Dolly Alderton. His cultural memoir Starstruck: Fame, Failure My Family and Me was published to great critical success. He is currently a columnist for Spectator World and Perspective.
