A Tale of Two Barmaids – is a tale of two cities – Maria Luttikhuis and Valeria Nicolucci
9 August 2018 @ 12:00 am
I am really excited about this show, not only because its of two young women, but because its my two girls who work at Vouts who’s work and discipline to their work(hate that word ‘Practise’) mean that I have two of the most intelligent and creative girls to work with at Vout-O-Reenees¬Ý who continually surprise me with their knowledge and understanding about art and the world. Total originals. which is what Vouts is all about. If all young people were like this I would breath a sigh of relief and know the planet was in safe hands! Not Brexit dreams.
PV is 6-11 9th August please RSVP [email protected]
A Tale of Two Barmaids – is a tale of two cities –
Rome and Utrecht. Maria and Valeria. Italy and the Netherlands.
Hot and Cold, they seem an unlikely pairing but they are the best of friends and there works compliment rather than copies.¬Ý one a ceramicist with Japanese leanings the other¬Ý a modern visual and performance artistThey met as most young people do in London sharing a flat. there are positives to our insane housing problem.
AND They both work the bar at Vout-O-Reenee’s. Artists make the best barstaff because they have there own work to get out the angst of their work conditions on! That counts for me too. Art keeps us all a little saner.
. Valeria Nicolucci was born in Rome. She moved to London at the age of 19 She holds a BA and MA in History of East Asian art from the University of Oriental and African Studies, London and specialised on Japanese woodblock prints. She will be exhibiting her ceramics
