#vgfy Van Gogh Lives! One hundred and twenty eight years after his death, Vincent Van Gogh seems to be alive and well and performing I had the privilege of sitting with a few like minded souls in The Van Gogh Cafe in Brixton and watching Walter Michael DeForest (aka Vincent) transport us to the fascinating (& often heartbreaking ) world of the artist in his show ‘Van Gogh Find Yourself.’ As well as learning about the great man & having some myths busted, we got to watch Walter create his own amazing art and were encouraged to participate by creating our own artworks too. Those us who were lucky (or cheeky) enough) got a portrait to take home. This show is a wonderful, immersive experience which draws you into both the artist’s life and your own creativity. If you are at the Edinburgh Fringe Festival, be sure to catch the show there and connect it and Walter on Facebook, Instagram or Twitter with #vgfyClive Ramage: The wonderful thing about Van Gogh is that his story gives all struggling artists a great sense of hope. That all the work and hardship will someday be worthwhile. #VGFY brings Vincent’s story to life before your eyes like no book or documentary can. Warm, inspiring and very touching.
